3 Things We’re Grateful for in Oceanside

Oceanside is often referred to as a coastal paradise for a reason! For decades our beach escape has served as the perfect year-round backdrop for long-lasting memories both visitors and locals alike can enjoy. As exciting businesses and experiences continue to flock to Oceanside, the city’s history, heart and character has only grown. We are reminded of everything there is to be thankful for in Oceanside, both past and present. Here are three things we are feeling especially grateful for!

O’Mazing O’riginal O’siders

Oceanside has built an incredible community based upon creativity, ingenuity and o’riginality. Local entrepreneurs, hoteliers, artistic institutions and restaurateurs have dreamt up and created unique experiences and offerings that provide more and more reasons to stay in Oceanside (as if you needed any more)!

This year, Oceanside welcomed a host of exciting new projects that revitalized some of our existing o’riginal locations including the opening of The Brick Hotel and its two attached restaurants, Q+A Oyster Bar and Cococabana, the new future of one of Oceanside’s most historic buildings, the Schulyer Building. The Graves House, of Top Gun fame, completed its restoration and is now home to The Famous HIGH-Pie. The Green Room Hotel and The Fin Hotel continue to provide a boutique home-away-from-home stay. Our phenomenal culinary scene has boomed with locals at the helm of award-winning flavors. Davin Waite, Executive Chef and Co-Founder of three Oceanside restaurants, was honored at the California Travel Association Summit with its 2022 Sustainability Advocate Award. Valle was just honored with its addition to the prestigious California Michelin Guide! The list goes on with locally operated foodie hotspots Matsu, Naegi & KNVS causing a media stir. This year even brought a way to support our craft beverage purveyors with the launch of the O’side Sips passport program!

Oceanside’s Beauty & Endless Adventures

With 3.5 miles of stunning beaches, as well as beautiful inland parks and fantastic year-round weather providing the perfect conditions for any outdoor activity, O’side has always been a treasure in San Diego County. At any time of year, the city is full of people from around the world catching epic waves, taking beautiful walks along the historic pier and harbor village, biking down palm-tree lined streets, fishing for a local catch, visiting the California Surf Museum or Oceanside Museum of Art, reeling in history at Mission San Luis Rey and so much more. (We could GO ON!)

We’re grateful that there is always a reason to make the most of your time in our city by rounding up the whole fam for adventures that won’t be forgotten. Year round whale watching trips depart from the Oceanside Harbor daily and bike rentals that range from traditional beach cruisers to zipping e-bikes are available from vendors like SoCal Bikes, Mostly E-Bikes, Wheel Fun Rentals and Ride O’side! Get in the water for a fun surf sesh with your squad, or take a lesson from a local pro. Kayaks, stand up paddle boards and sailboat rentals are all readily available for your enjoyment too. If you really want to feel the thrill, jump for joy at GoJump Oceanside or feel a sense of deep peace and gratitude for the city’s natural beauty when you take a Waverider Helicopter ride across the golden coastline.

Plus, with elite sporting events, such as SuperGirl Surf Pro, IRONMAN 70.3 and Bike the Coast there is an endless amount of inspiration and opportunity to train and remain active along our coastline.
