Art and surf are two animating forces in the life of O’side, and each has its own world-class museum. The Oceanside Museum of Art mounts boundary-pushing contemporary art exhibits and features local luminaries in its permanent collection. The California Surf Museum celebrates all things wave riding, featuring iconic boards and the evolution of surf culture.
While you’re in the mood for history, take a quick detour to the nearby Mission San Luis Rey, “The King of the Missions” – where centuries of art, architecture, and craftsmanship tell the story of early California.
