The Pier Amphitheater on the south side of the pier brings crowds and lots of activities to Pier View South, especially during summer. By contrast, this wide, sandy beach north of the pier is more chill. Follow the flags to find designated zones for surfing and swimming and body boarding, guarded by Towers 2 and 4.
The paid parking lot north of the pier fills up quickly in summer. Have better luck with metered parking on Pacific Street or head to either of the pay parking lots located on the corner of Mission Avenue and Myers Street, or on Surfrider Way east of Pacific Street.
