We’re proud of our eclectic mix of o’riginal shops, some of which—like Brixton and Linksoul—have gained icon status. In every neighborhood you’ll find hidden gems and local institutions, from galleries and home goods to apothecaries and surfboard shapers.
Consider “thrift” a verb? We do, too. And we’re confident our vintage scene is one of the best in Southern California, whether you’re into design, furnishings, or apparel. A bold claim, we know! But shops like Captain’s Helm and the Sea Hive Marketplace bring the receipts.
People watching is a time-honored institution in O’side. Which means so is cultivating your own o’riginal sense of style. Peruse local boutiques like The Ozone and Rising Co. and find your fashion vibe. Surf and skate are our second language, but we can nail hipster-pirate and gypsy-mermaid, too.
Since 2007, Mainstreet Oceanside’s Sunset Market has been the place to be on Thursday night. Four city blocks are given over to as many as 200 merchants from 5pm-9pm, and locals and visitors cruise the pop-up market enjoying gourmet goods, quirky gifts, artisan offerings and live entertainment. Located on Pier View Way west of Coast Highway downtown.
