Volunteer Corner: Summer Tips From the California Welcome Center
We are often asked for recommendations on a number of things from those visiting wonderful North San Diego County; with such a diverse and thriving area there is certainly no shortage of things to do! The best place to get those questions answered is always the California Welcome Center here in Oceanside, with 60+ volunteers that operate the center and encounter these questions daily there is a wealth of great information there. To highlight this we are launching Volunteer Corner, bringing you ideas and suggestions from our wonderful knowledgeable volunteers.

2017 Oceanside Tourism Summit
Visit Oceanside unveiled its 2017 branding campaign “O’riginal O’siders” at the 7th Annual Oceanside Tourism Summit held on April 18th at the city’s historic Star Theatre. Using words such as authentic, real, inventive, free-spirited and unorthodox, the campaign will focus on the unique people, places and events that give Oceanside its one-of-a-kind personality. Awards were also shared with industry partners that stood out and supported local tourism efforts over the past year.
Team Building Activities
Oceanside is becoming the hub for retreats and team building with its beautiful weather, miles of sandy beaches, and numerous options to eat, play, shop, and stay. Our recent group was Texas Roadhouse who gathered 45 team members to enjoy an awesome team building retreat in Oceanside! Outside of the meeting room, the group bonded through their team-oriented beach boot camp, themed dinners, and exploration of all of the local food and brew spots.
