Walk This Way – An Oceanside Walking Food Tour

Are you a foodie, or somebody that just loves great food? If so look no further than Carla and Linda’s Walking Food Tours, a unique fun-filled way for you to experience Oceanside’s phenomenal and diverse dining scene. Each tour Carla and Linda host will visit several carefully selected restaurants that have been handpicked to showcase a variety of exciting local cuisine for you to enjoy.

Carla Werts and Linda Pina love food, they love Oceanside, and they love sharing their passion for both. Let these friendly, knowledgeable local guides teach you about our town’s popular hotspots, hidden gems, and fascinating history. Linda explains, “We want locals and visitors alike to take away a sense of Oceanside. We want them to see what we see, great restaurants, community and friendliness.”

These easy walking tours run year round, rain or shine. You can expect a relaxed pace, and to visit a total of four to five fantastic local restaurants. Portions are generous so be sure to bring your appetite! Tastings are both savory and sweet including tantalizing treats such as homemade pappardelle pasta, Wahoo lettuce wraps and chocolate mousse cookie stacks. The fact that Oceanside restaurants are largely chef driven also enhances their uniqueness. The tours provide you with an opportunity to not only try excellent new food, but also meet and greet some of these fabulously talented chefs that are passionate about the farm-to-table fare they create daily. Several restaurants even prepare special off-menu items for the tours not available to the average customer!

When booking your tour choose from three different well-organized options featuring the best bites Oceanside’s coastal corridor offers: North O’side, Heart of O’side, and South O. The North option winds through concentrated downtown requiring the least amount of walking (about ¼ mile). Stops may include Petite Madeline Bakery & Bistro for dessert, Harney Sushi for sustainable house special rolls, and Barrel Republic for comfort food nibbles.

The Heart of O’side route usually drops by charming newcomer The Miller’s Table for homemade potato chips, trendy Local Tap House for fried Brussels, and bustling Bagby Beer Company for homemade ice cream sandwiches.

Finally, the South O option strolls past a delightful shop-lined section of Hwy 101 that is dotted with palm trees. Tour stops often include The Privateer Coal Fire Pizza for perfect pies, Wrench and Rodent Seabasstropub for sushi surprises, and Urge Gastropub and Whiskey Bank for a sweet ending plus an optional whiskey flight.

Client Shelia West from Chicago raved, “This tour has given me a gateway to really get a glimpse of the community, have great food, meet new people and get recommendations for all of the great places to go in like two hours.” So if you’re in the mood for a culinary adventure look no further than Carla and Linda’s entertaining, informative walking tours for an indulgent inside scoop on Oceanside eats.
