Halloween is right around the corner and Oceanside is boasting a plethora of activities for witches and ghouls of every age to take part in and enjoy! Whether it be Brick-or-Treat Party Nights at LEGOLAND, Art After Dark at the Oceanside Museum of Art, the Dia de los Muertos Festival at Mission San Luis Rey, or the numerous Halloween events and carnivals being thrown throughout the city, there is no shortage of places you can go for a scary good time this All Hallows Eve!

Old Town Trolley Haunted Tours
What: Join the Old Town Trolley Tours for a spirited & entertaining tour built on stories of history, mystery and legends of San Diego’s past & DARKER SIDE! Travel back in time and learn about the spirits of notorious wild characters like gunslingers, gamblers and ladies of the night who lived and died in San Diego. It is possible that their spirits live on in the dark recesses of the historic buildings and neighborhoods!

The Scream Zone at the Del Mar Scaregrounds
What: The Scream Zone is San Diego County’s largest haunted experience! Hosted at the Del Mar Fairgrounds it is considered among the goriest, scariest and “screaming-est” fright fests to be found in the dark corners of Southern California. Three terrifying haunted attractions are available at The Scream Zone, including local favorite House of Horror so pick your poison wisely!

What: Camp Pendleton Paintball Park is once again hosting their annual zombie themed paintball games throughout October. There are three zombie shooting attractions to choose from; a zombie infested trail, a zombie hunting ride that navigates through zombie infected fields, and standard paintball play with a zombie theme. Tickets are $29 each or 2 for $39, which includes all equipment and a starter pack of paintballs.

What: Brick-or-Treat Party Nights at LEGOLAND California Resort are filled with Halloween excitement! Every Saturday in October the park transforms into a monster mash bash for the ultimate family fun Halloween party, featuring Ghost Cruise adventure, a new pop-badge challenge, a fall festival complete with a LEGO pumpkin patch building activity, Bluegrass Band Jamboree and a special LEGO Friends meet and greet where kids can decorate their own craft and more!

SPECIAL EVENTS
What: Thursday is market day in downtown Oceanside! As the sun begins to set on October 25th the family-friendly Sunset Market will become a spooky good time! Kids will be able to trick or treat through the vendor booths as well as participate in a costume parade at the main stage. Contests will also be held at the main stage to find the most evil laugh and the most blood curdling scream! In addition, Halloween music will be playing all night long!

What: 2018 marks the 18th anniversary of the Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, festival in Oceanside. This traditional Mexican holiday dating back thousands of years celebrates and honors the memories of the deceased with colorful displays, face painting and more. This year the free public festival will be more vibrant and exciting than ever before with beautiful altars on display, as well as local traditional dancers and entertainment, a classic car show, arts & crafts, a shopping mercado filled with traditional food vendors and more. All attendees are encouraged to participate in the free interactive chalk cemetery where they can dedicate images, flowers and candles to their lost loved ones.
