Visiting Marine Corp Base

Camp Pendleton

Make O’side your homebase.

O’side and Camp Pendleton share decades of history.

In O’side, we are who we are in large part because of the generations of Marines and other military personnel and professionals based at Camp Pendleton who shaped our character. We honor these roots, and are pleased to offer contractors, service members, loved ones, and any others a homebase when they need to visit our neighbor to the north.

Prepare for your visit to Camp Pendleton

Lodging and billeting in Oceanside positions you closest to Camp Pendleton’s southern entry points including Main Gate, San Luis Rey Gate (back gate), and Las Pulgas Gate. These gates provide the best access to Base Headquarters, Mainside, Del Mar Beach and Marina, La Casa Del Mar, Pacific Views Event Center, Naval Hospital, Lake O’Niell, Wounded Warrior Battalion, Tactical Systems Support, Amphibious Assault Craft Unit, and Camp Pendleton Base Air Terminal.

  • Remember, Camp Pendleton is a closed base and only persons who have official business or a sponsor on base will be granted access.
  • To avoid delays, read the base access rules and plan ahead.
  • Make sure to have your valid ID, proof of car insurance, and current vehicle registration handy.
  • When approaching the gate, use the visitor lane, roll your window down with your ID in hand, and tell the guard specifically where you are headed. Do not be alarmed but do be prepared to pull over and have your information closely reviewed.
  • Once on base, follow all traffic laws. Military police keep a close eye on all vehicles and tickets are issued without hesitation for infractions.

Companies, manufacturers, and inventors exhibit the latest technology in weaponry and warfare tools.

Think three massive mud pits, river crossings, two 5-foot walls, tunnels, slippery hill, a cargo climb, and more.

Choose O’side when it’s time to gather, reminisce, and and celebrate your service.
