Head to the Brooks Theatre for a panel discussion featuring 3 authors, all veterans – Major Scott A. Huesing USMC (Ret), bestselling author of Echo in Ramadi(2018), Major Fred Galvin USMC (Ret), bestselling author of A Few Bad Men (2022), Amy Forsythe, author of Heroes Live Here, and Moderator Robert Young Pelton- Author, journalist, and documentary film director. Pelton’s work consists of conflict reporting and interviews with military and political figures in war zones. Pelton has been present at conflicts such as the Battle of Qala-i-Jangi in Afghanistan, the invasion of Iraq, the Battle of Grozny, the rebel siege to take Monrovia in Liberia, and the siege on Villa Somalia in Mogadishu. His specialty for solo coverage has also included lesser known dirty wars in Burma, Libya, Sierra Leone, Bougainville, South Sudan and more. His ground time and has been in combat with forces in about 40 other conflicts has generated articles, books reporting and films for CBS, ABC, CNN, National Geographic, Discovery and more.
Panel will cover how 3 combat veterans fought, survived, and returned home to write and share their individually unique perspectives on war.
