Live! at the Brooks – Jackie Venson

A rare performer is coming to town!!! Jackie Venson is a multi-instrumentalist , singer/songwriter known far and wide for her beautifully complex music and blazing guitar skills. Born and raised in Austin, Jackie has traveled the world playing to crowds both as a headliner and for support for major acts including Keb’ Mo’, Gary Clark Jr, Aloe Blacc, Melissa Etheridge, and Citizen Cope to name a few. In 2020, Jackie released her studio album Vintage Machine, her first studio follow up to her 2019’s Joy. Music from Vintage Machine was featured in Jackie’s taping for Austin City Limit’s 46th season. In 2021, she released Love Transcends, her first studio album centered around the blues. In early 2023, Jackie released Evolution of Joy , a reimagining of her breakout album Joy with producer Frenchie Smith. One thing we know, is that in these turbulent times were living in, Jackie Venson is going to play her music, speak her truth, and spread the joy.

Also, on the bill will be San Diego country blues legend Mr. Ben Powell. An incredibly gifted guitarist, vocalist, & storyteller specializing in the music of Charlie Patton, Son House, Blind Willie Johnson, & Robert Johnson. This is a can’t miss show at the Brooks Theatre in Oceanside on Sept. 7th.
