Featuring indie folk rock music on cello, guitar and cajon by composer Jenn Hartman Luck, this
retelling of the classic Russian folk tales around “Hansel and Gretel” focuses on the women and girls
of the fairy tales. Gretel processes the grief at the death of her mother and the rejection of her
stepfamily while on the hero’s journey, facing knights and witches, spells and curses, and through it all
the question–how will she survive?
