9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
At 8:30 a.m. on September 11, 2021, there will be a ceremonial walk from the City Hall flagpole to The Strand at Surfrider and then to the Pier Amphitheater. All are welcome to join in on this walk or meet by 9:00 a.m. at the Ampitheater.
At approximately 9:00-9:15 a.m., the remembrance activities will begin. This will include a flag salute, the singing of the National Anthem, the playing of “Taps,” the nation’s song of remembrance, remarks by officials, and more. Police Chief Armijo will serve as emcee.
Due to a surfing event scheduled there, we will be sharing the Junior Seau Amphitheater space that morning. The organizers have offered to pause their activities to share in this event.
