It’s an exciting time for food enthusiasts in California! The Michelin Guide’s annual awards have recognized 6 new chefs and restaurants across the state. Their search for the “best of the best” has led Michelin judges to our city of Oceanside, where Valle has recently been awarded the esteemed Michelin Star.
Under the leadership of Chef Roberto Alcocer, Valle has swiftly risen to join the elite ranks of the world’s top dining establishments. The Michelin Star, globally recognized as a hallmark of fine dining quality, is no mean feat. It’s a testament to the tireless effort, innovation, and dedication Chef Roberto and his team have demonstrated since Valle’s inception. With this accolade, Valle becomes Oceanside’s first and only Michelin-starred restaurant, San Diego’s first Michelin star for a Mexican restaurant and the only new spot in SD to receive a star this year!
Serving a dynamic fusion of traditional Baja flavors and contemporary techniques, Valle showcases the richness and diversity of California’s local produce and Baja Mexico’s Guadalupe Valley wine region. The kitchen, headed by Chef Roberto and Chef Raul Casillas, is an alchemist’s lab, transforming traditional ingredients into dishes that are visually stunning and gastronomically delightful. At Valle, Alcocer lends his distinct perspective on the region’s food and wine to a seasonally inspired, California-sourced tasting menu served in an elevated setting, creating an intriguing juxtaposition of modern Mexican dining against the carefree energy of Oceanside’s surf and skate community.
