Barrel Republic Oceanside
215 N Coast Hwy Oceanside, CA 92054
(760) 435-0042
Opened in September 2015, Barrel Republic is a welcome addition to Oceanside’s growing population of craft beer enthusiasts. Patrons are encouraged to sample from the astounding 48 craft beers on self-serve taps throughout the restaurant. To compliment the brews, distinguished Chef Michael Brown designed a stellar menu of small reasonably priced plates to share, including many vegetarian options. Everything is made in house from scratch such as the smoked salmon and flatbread dough. Crowd pleasers include the Bacon Wrapped Pork Belly, Spicy Butternut Mac & Cheese and Wild Mushroom “French” Dip.
URGE Gastropub and Whiskey Bank
URGE Gastropub and Whiskey Bank

Oceanside’s latest brewpub opened last month and has quickly become a popular hotspot. URGE offers a phenomenal selection of 40+ craft beers and world-class whiskies. The menu features elevated American comfort food such as decadent Beer Cheese Fries, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and burgers galore. Rumor has it that a speakeasy is scheduled to open this summer.
The Whet Noodle
The Whet Noodle
1813 S Coast Highway Oceanside, CA 92054
(760) 453-2738
With a reputation for being a “chef’s chef,” Davin Waite has a following that stretches to Los Angeles and beyond so it’s no surprise that his Japanese style pub, The Whet Noodle, opened in late December to rave reviews! The restaurant specializes in traditional ramen noodles with an option of duck shoyu or vegan and gluten-free hot and sour miso broth as a base; veggie, pork, fish or slow-smoked duck as a protein and toppings such as garlic chips or hard boiled egg. And there’s more yummy dishes coming soon, because Chef Davin is hard at work developing new menu items for The Whet Noodle.
