Oceanside is the official training ground for usa surfing.

USA Surfing is recognized by the International Surfing Association (ISA). The ISA is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for Surfing, Stand Up Paddling, Prone Paddling, Bodyboarding, and Surfriding.

The USA Surfing Prime Series in includes five Shortboard divisions: Boys U14, Boys U16, Boys U18, Girls U16, and Girls U18.

USA Surfing Championships and Team Trials includes Adult Shortboard, Longboard all ages, SUP Surf, SUP Race, and Para Surfing and is held in June at Oceanside Harbor.
