What: The First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk will be celebrating the beginning of the summer season on Friday, June 2nd in downtown Oceanside featuring a special guest, Charlie the Pelican! “One of the most well-known attractions for summer visitors to the Oceanside pier is “Charlie the Pelican”, who is often perched just outside the bait shop on the pier. Visitors come from near and far away to see and even feed Charlie and we thought it would be appropriate to honor him as the Oceanside mascot during our June Art Walk event” said Susan Brown, President of the Oceanside Friends of the Arts. A small, stuffed pelican memento will be available at various locations during the Art Walk for purchase to commemorate Charlie the Pelican. The First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk will also showcase live performances including music, painting, and poetry as well as art education, culinary and pop-up art galleries displayed in local businesses and public spaces, and more.
