As the weather continues to heat up and the hills become covered in blooming flowers, Oceanside welcomes you with open arms offering a variety of things to do to make your trip a memorable one! This month some of Oceanside’s most famous events are back, offering a fantastic opportunity for all ages to witness something special and participate in the festivities! Events include skateboarding sessions with X Games Medalist Marcelo Bastos, the iconic IRONMAN traithlon, the popular First Friday: Art Walk, the two day juried Oceanside fine art festival, and much more! April really is a special time to visit and experience all that Oceanside has to offer.

Stomp Sessions Skateboard Camp with X Games Medalist
What: Join 2-time XGames medalist Marcelo Bastos and Stomp Session instructors for 4 days of Spring Break Skating from 9am-1pm at MLK Skatepark in Oceanside! Sessions are for beginners to advanced skaters looking to work on a variety of skating features and skills with a seasoned veteran!
When: April 2-5, 9am-1pm

IRONKIDS Oceanside Fun Run
What: IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside is back, promising an exciting day of racing on the intense 70.3 mile course. Prior to the main event on Saturday, April 7th, the IRONKIDS Oceanside Fun Run will be held for ages 3-13. The race distance options include 1 mile and a 1/2 mile, which can be chosen on race day. The price for each participating racer is $20, and parents, family and friends are all invited to come and cheer on their little racers and enjoy the festivities. First Friday Art Walk – Picturing the Future
What: This month’s Art Walk theme is “Picturing the Future,” and will include works by the MiraCosta College Photography students and artist/professor Christina Ree at the Oceanside Public Library. Their special artistic interpretations of this year’s “Big Read” book, Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel, will focus on the possible future of humanity and what that might look like. The Art Walk will also showcase live performances, music, poetry, art education, and culinary and pop-up art galleries showcased in local businesses and public spaces. Admission is free and open to the public, and admission into the Oceanside Museum of Art is half-priced during the Art Walk.

IRONMAN 70.3
What: Athletes from around the world come to Oceanside for the annual IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon. The course consists of a 1.2 mile swim in the Pacific Ocean, 56 mile bike loop through Camp Pendleton, and 13.1 mile run along Oceanside’s coast. Everyone is welcome to cheer on the athletes as they complete this intense course!

Oceanside Harbor Wine Cruises
What: Join Oceanside Adventures and Beach House Winery on the first Saturday of every month for a 90-minute evening cruise aboard a luxurious catamaran through the beautiful Oceanside Harbor. The cruise features an appetizer platter and three tastes of wines from Beach House Winery. Cost is $39 per person, 21 and over.

Billabong Salute to Pipeline Exhibit Celebration
What: The California Surf Museum presents the grand opening of their newest exhibit, Billabong Salute to Pipeline, celebrating some of the most iconic boards and surfers of pipeline! Admission is free, but space is limited so make sure to RSVP to save your spot!

South O Walkabout
What: This months South O Walkabout theme is Earthchella! Sun, Sand, Sea. Keep Paradise Clean! The locally organized South O Walkabout is a monthly walking event that showcases our localvore beach community, unique shops and restaurants. This monthly event encourages walkers to discover the unique shopping and dining experiences offered in South Oceanside. So come eat, drink, shop, and Walk; Good Vibes only!
When: April 11, 6pm-9pm
Where: The Walkabout footprint is the shopping district in South O. On the south end it starts around Urge Gastropub and extends north to the Privateer on Whaley St. The easy walk is about .4 miles each way.

Heartbreak Ridge Run
What: This off-road running race held in the northwestern foothills of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton near Oceanside offers multiple distance choices with a challenging hill climb and scenic views of surrounding mountains and meadows. All Marines and Civilians Ages 4 and Up are welcome! The race includes Half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1K kids run options.

Earth Day Festival
What: Grab your family and friends for North County’s largest Earth Day celebration in downtown Oceanside! Earth Festival is a free event with fun and exciting attractions for everyone including live music from local bands! This festival will also include environmental education, product vendors, and a Kids-Eco Zone where children will be inspired by our local environment to save water, recycle right, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Oceanside Days of Art
What: The 26th annual Oceanside Days of Art will be held on Saturday April 14th and Sunday April 15th, 2018. ODA is a juried fine art festival featuring sometimes over 80 local artists selling a variety of unique artwork including paintings, sculptures, stained glass, ceramics, fine jewelry, photography and more. The festival, which is offered free to the public, has 3 performance venues, children’s hands on art activities, art demonstrations, and a delicious variety of food trucks.

Sol e Mar Live at the Library
What: Sol e Mar’s six man “percussion avalanche” will be performing the complex rhythms of Latin America, West Africa, and Cuba at the Oceanside Civic Center Library. The concert is free to attend, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis so arrive early!
