The Star Theatre: “A Streetcar Named Desire”

The Star Theatre: “A Streetcar Named Desire”
Come and join Star Theatre for one of history’s most prominent, harrowing and arguably, Tennessee’s Williams most revered works. Directed by David Schulz, this play will transport you back to the post prohibition, jazz-ridden era of the 1940’s. Genteel, bourgeoisie Blanche Dubois, after having lost her teaching post and the family’s plantation, takes a streetcar named desire to the debauched realms of the South. Settled in the heart of New Orleans’ famous French Quarter resides her sister, Stella Kowalski married to brutish husband, Stanley. Plagued with the guilt of her past, Blanche struggles to maintain her lily-white status as haunting remnants of the ‘not so long ago’ resurface throughout the play whilst she fights against the demise of her appearance and facade. A battle between classes, sexes and blood relations wrench at these compelling characters. Rated PG-13. For more information visit Star Theatre Shows.
