Scarred for Life Workshop with Ted Meyer
After years of creating work about his own rare illness, artist Ted Meyer changed focus and began visually telling the stories of other people who have been through major traumas. For over 16 years, Meyer has been creating a graphic, yet beautiful depiction of people’s suddenly altered bodies and the resulting scars. The artistically-enhanced monoprints taken directly from the scarred skin are accompanied by a photographic portrait taken by Meyer and a written story by his subject. Each tells a unique and intriguing story of resilience and healing. This workshop invites those with large textured scars to come and be a part of the art. This workshop has limited availability so register soon by visiting Oceanside Museum of Art Calendar and selecting this workshop under August 11th. All supplies will be provided, the price is $15 for OMA Members, or $25 for visitors.
