Visit Oceanside welcomes the return of Race Across the West (RAW) and Race Across America (RAAM)! Come show your Oceanside spirit by cheering on the start of these endurance racers!

Race Across America (RAAM) is one of the most respected and longest running endurance sporting events in the world. Starting in Oceanside, RAAM spans over 3000 miles, climbs 175,000 feet, crosses 13 states, in no more than twelve (for solo riders) to nine days (for teams) and finishes on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The Race Across the West (RAW) is one of the world’s top RAAM Qualifying events. Oceanside, CA to Durango, CO – 860 miles across the rugged American West. Participants cross the Coast Range, Imperial Dunes, Monument Valley and finish in the San Juan Range of SW Colorado. The RAW route follows the RAAM route to Durango. Both the RAAM and RAW racers are on the course at the same time making it a perfect way to see how you might do racing RAAM.  Tuesday: Race begins for RAAM solo riders and all RAW participants. Saturday: Race begins for RAAM team riders.

Metrolink is proud to serve as the LINK between six Southern California counties and events in Oceanside with safe, seamless and reliable train transportation. Regular train cars can carry up to 3 bicycles while Metrolink’s specialized bike cars can carry up to 9 bicycles.

The Metrolink $15 Summer Day Pass, available on weekdays, and the $10 Weekend Day Pass can be purchased via Metrolink’s mobile app. Both passes are valid for unlimited systemwide trips on the day of travel, and kids 17 and under ride for free on weekends when accompanied by a fare-paying adult. Take the Metrolink Orange County (OC) or Inland Empire-Orange County (IEOC) lines to the Oceanside Transit Center station, then walk 15 minutes to reach the Oceanside Pier. Plan your trip, door-to-door, using the Moovit App or Transit App.
