The roots of jazz are alive in popular music. The two have remained joined at the hip throughout the history of the art forms. Enter Leonard Patton and Danny Green: a desire to further explore this musical connection is the raison d’etre behind the newly formed the Leonard Patton-Danny Green Quartet. Patton, ever the smoky, soulful vocalist plays in and around the lush piano structures created by Green as the two spin memorable pop standards into a more playful take on jazz.
