Lecture: The Start Of Modern Art (1750–1900)

Come to the Oceanside Museum of Art Thursday May 18th to attend an insightful lecture on the start of modern art from year 1750-1900. Robin Douglas will be speaking on the progress that lead up to and the aftermath of inspired artists such as Delacroix, Ingres, Courbet, Monet, and Van Gogh as she reviews how Romanticism, Neo-Classical, Realism, Impressionism and Post Impressionism changed the world of art. Along with the lively conversation you can enjoy libations, popcorn, and chocolates to sweeten your experience. Admission is $10 for OMA members and $15 for Visitors. This lecture is part of a bigger four part series titled “30,000 Years of Art History in Four Nights” that explores art across the centuries, with lectures taking place May 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th.
