Learn the art of hand-embroidery during this three-part class. Students will learn basic techniques and the best materials to use to create small hand stitched creations.

Overview of Sessions:

First Session, August 1: Types of needles, hoops, thread, threading the needle and knotting your thread. Learn and practice running stitch and backstitch. Homework: complete small sampler started in class

Second Session, August 8: Share homework. Trouble-shoot problems. Learn Chain stitch, Lazy-daisy, French knot, feather stitch. Start a small sampler. Homework: finish sampler started in class

Third Session, August 15: Share homework. Transfer a design and stitch using techniques learned in class.

All students will receive a materials kit that includes: needles, embroidery hoop, pre-cut fabric squares, a small assortment of threads, needle threader, and small scissors.

• Fee: $65 per person (includes three classes and materials kit; all materials included)
