California Surf Museum: She Is The Ocean Premiere
SHE IS THE OCEAN features the stories of nine extraordinary women from across the globe who define the courage and spirituality it takes to call the vast ocean their home that will appeal to surf enthusiasts around the world!
The nine ocean “heroes” featured are teen surfing prodigy Cinta Hansel; pro Hawaiian surfer and Coco Ho (daughter of Pro surfer Michael Ho); pro surfer and winner of the WSL “Barrel of the Year 2016”, Keala Kennelly; big wave surfer and winner of WSL “Women Best Performance 2016” and Big Wave World Champion in 2019, Andrea Moller; German high diver and 7-time European Champion in cliff diving, Anna Bader; free-diver and ballet dancer, Rose Molina; shark conservationist and freediver from Hawaii, Ocean Ramsey; surfing icon and mother of the late legendary surfer Todd Chesser, Jeannie Chesser; and marine biologist, explorer and the first female chief scientist of the U.S., Sylvia Earle.
A live panel discussion, with CSM President Jim Kempton as moderator, director Inna Blokhina, big wave surfer Keala Kennelly and 1982 Women’s World Surfing Champion Debbie Beacham, follows the film screening.
The documentary premieres at 6pm Pacific Time on Thursday, October 15. Run time is 98 minutes. The panel discussion follows the film at about 7:45pm.
