San Diego Events, May 2015
Beautiful San Diego is located just about 35 miles south of Oceanside, and with endless family friendly activities and wonderful shopping, it is the perfect day trip destination for Oceanside visitors.
Here are some of the activities happening in May.
Fiesta Old Town: Cinco de Mayo
Come enjoy family friendly activities, sample local cuisine, browse the shops and be amazed by the Low Rider Car Show. Old Town also offers museums, stagecoach rides and interactive activities that will have your children squealing with excitement. Featuring equestrian performances, the Cantina Garden and live music on three stages, this is a fun-filled weekend for the whole family! May 2nd, 11am-10pm. May 3rd, 11am-5pm.
Gator by the Bay Festival
If you’re a Cajun at heart, this is the weekend for you. With Zydeco bands, Cajun cuisine, a family friendly kids area, live music of all sorts, some great “retail therapy” at the Marketplace and just plain fun, this is the perfect place to take Mom for Mother’s Day! May 7th – 10th.
San Diego Jazz Festival
For jazz aficionados, there is no better place to be over Memorial Day weekend than the San Diego Jazz Festival. Featuring jazz legends like R. Kelly, Erykah Badu, Eric Benet and Toni Braxton, plus many more talented artists. This event will be held at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, which features two championship golf courses, a world class spa and luxurious rooms, and is the perfect way to kick off summer. May 22nd – 24th.
Fiesta del Sol
This year is the 36th Anniversary Celebration of Fiesta del Sol. This FREE 2-day Music & Crafts Event is hosted by the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce and features tasty food, great musicians, crafts and rides for kids, and lots of fun for all! May 30th – 31st.
