A brief history of Beach Soccer:
Beginning on the beaches of Brazil over a decade ago, beach soccer is one of the fastest-growing professional sports in the world. Played recreationally for many years, it wasn’t until 1993 that the first professional beach soccer competition was held in Miami Beach, drawing teams from USA, Brazil, Argentina, and Italy. With television coverage beginning in 1994 and a Pro Beach Soccer Tour starting in 1996, the sport became legitimized and continued to grow into the new millennium.
