Dancing with the Stars? How about dancing under the stars?! Oceanside CA offers a fun and educational opportunity to learn the art of dancing with complimentary Argentine Tango lessons on the beach! Learn the basics of a correct dance hold and how to move around the floor, plus add on a little flair with some dips and spins later in the lesson. Tango on the Beach is offered every Friday night this summer until September 5th, from 7:15-8:15 p.m.
Perhaps the most widely recognized dance in the world, the tango is iconic. Known for its sharp movements and passionate music and performance, tango should be in the repertoire of dancers of all skill levels. Even if you’ve never learned dance before, instructors Krista Ann and Matt Bellamy can teach you just a few moves that can be built into a true tango dance!
What you’ll learn
This introductory tango lesson will teach you how to hold your arms for a proper dance frame and move with a partner around the floor. After these basics, you’ll learn a few turns and dips before practicing all the moves together to create a fluid tango dance. If you’ve dreamed of leading a dance or of being dipped under the stars, make it a reality at Tango on the Beach! [image]

You’ll be inspired by the beat of the tango music as your feet move in rhythm across the floor! Light refreshments, such as delicious fruits and cheeses, will be available, and, of course, an introductory tango dancing lesson. The complete experience is offered free of charge, but donations are welcome. Lessons are open to singles and couples, so grab all your friends and make it a fun night out!
There is a new dance floor, but dancers are advised to wear closed-toe shoes or sneakers that can turn on sandy or rough surfaces. Flip flops and high heels are not recommended, but feel free to dress to impress. A light jacket may be needed for after the sun goes down.
