It was hard to narrow down the list, as there are several great coffee spots to try in Oceanside… But, we had the pleasure of curating the following sampling of 5 must-try coffee spots in the Oceanside community.
Banana Dang Coffee

A new coffee shop to hit Oceanside’s coast highway this last year, was the one and only, Banana Dang. Unless you’ve had the pleasure of visiting Rincon, Puerto Rico, there is no other spot quite like their relocated space in Oceanside. With a mission to “treat coffee as a culinary art and serve healthy banana smoothies in a friendly space that cultivates environmental aspects,” Banana Dang provides a unique spin to typical coffee joints. If you’re not a fan of bananas, don’t let this sway you from giving Banana Dang a try (not everything is banana infused). Whether you’re in the mood for one of their delicious coffee beverages (none are banana infused) and a happy toast, or a a semi-sweet treat with a soy or almond based smoothie (all made with banana), you’ll be happy you gave this place a try.
Black Rock Coffee Bar
1918 Oceanside Blvd., Oceanside, CA 92054
At Black Rock, their motto is caring about two things “people and good coffee.” And really, what more may you need from a coffee shop?  Black Rock opened their first store in Beaverton, OR in 2008, continued to conquer the Pacific North West, and now has graced Oceanside with their presence; we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them to the scene. If you’re in the mood for a premium or classic coffee blend or need to satisfy the little ones with a caffeine free item from their “lil rocker” menu, this PNW native shop will not disappoint.
Hill Street Cafe & Gallery
524 S. Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054
At Hill Street Cafe, the motto is, “Be Good To Yourself, Be Good To The Earth.” A certified green restaurant, espresso bar, and gallery, equipped with live music in the garden, you could spend half a day in this place, and not even realize where the time went! You can trust that no harmful chemicals are used in cleaning, everything is properly recycled, and all coffee grounds and food waste are composted. Get yourself a hot Mexican Mocha, or a Cold Chai Breeze to wash down any of their delicious menu items, such as their classic Mack’n Cheese or Teriyaki Tofu Wrap!
Hit the Spot Coffee

Hitting the Oceanside community New Years Eve of 2012, this local spot is becoming a staple thanks to a local retired military family! This family has made “Hit the Spot Coffee” stand amongst the rest, with their fireplace crackling as soon as the doors open at 6 am; welcoming you to taste their organic, fair-trade coffee, while accompanying your furry friend on their dog-friendly patio. With their motto of, “Friends, Family, Fun Conversation – Life,” how can you not feel at home when sipping on your Dirty Chai or Caramel Macchiato!?
Revolution Roasters
1836 S. Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054
A specialty coffee shop focused on small batch craft coffee, these locals initially started roasting small batches right out of their garage in Leucadia. All of their beans are grown responsibly and sustainably and are also hand roasted at Coffee Coffee, a surfy coffee shop in cute, quaint Leucadia. Their wide variety of coffee from places like Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, and Columbia, will keep your taste buds satisfied for many years to come!

Pier View Coffee Co.

Pier View Coffee is one of Oceanside’s most beloved coffee spots. This coffee shop serves more than just coffee. From specialty coffee drinks to teas to smoothies to Gelato to different pastries and bagels. Also, Pier View does “Free Bagel Mondays!” With purchase of a drink you get a free bagel on Mondays, which is fantastic! Pier View has something for everyone!
The Cup

The Cup is by far a local favorite… If you’ve never been, you will have to go find out why! Whether you’re in the mood for some strong coffee or espresso, or just a quick bite for breakfast or lunch, this cute, quaint shop will make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is known to be very warm, welcoming and cozy, with great music playing, and friendly staff to greet you; come by for a cup!

Looking for some coffee cart local flavor and friendly service? Look no further than Captain Grounds! Locals and vacationers alike proclaim this local stand as a MUST try! Two of the most raved about items on the menu are their Dirty Chai and Soy Chai Latte’s. Not a chai person? No need to worry! Get yourself a nice cup of coffee, some espresso, or a nicely blended smoothie, while enjoying their free Wi-Fi and pleasant ambiance.

Jitters Coffee Pub

Jitters is not your average coffee shop. It’s an eclectic, unique coffee pub! Upon walking in you’ll find warm colors of salmon and orange, with local artists artwork showcased on the walls, alongside mismatched furniture, plants, and a wide array of books to browse through.
