Sensational Seafood Dishes Around Oceanside

Looking for the best seafood dishes in town? Oceanside’s flourishing restaurant scene has you covered! Here are some of our picks for fresh fish and shellfish:

Calamari

Indulge in the most popular appetizer at 333 Pacific: Sweet Chili Calamari. Nosh on tender calamari pieces fried to crispy, golden brown perfection. Sweet chili sauce finishes the dish. Think sweet, hot with a spicy kick. To quench your thirst, sip on a signature cocktail made from one of the 100+ different vodkas in stock.

The restaurant’s enclosed patio offers stunning views of the Oceanside Pier. During the day watch the sparkling ocean waves or go later to catch a sensational sunset. Enjoy impeccable service and elegant white tablecloth dining at this upscale establishment.

Ceviche

Find trendy Local Tap House & Kitchen (LTH) on South Coast Highway 101. LTH serves up global cuisine, craft beer and cocktails in a modern rustic environment. Executive chef Daniel Pundik sources fresh ingredients from nearby farms and purveyors. For an inventive twist on a South American classic, try his citrus cured Tuna Crudo “Ceviche.”

This succulent starter presents a symphony of colors, flavors and textures. Dig into creamy avocado, tangy pico, silky ahi and house-made taro chips. Dip into seductive pools of salsa verde and green Sriracha crema. Taste the crunchy finish of corn, pepitas, sesame seeds and micro-greens.

Fish Tacos

For one of the best deals in town, sample the $1.50 fish tacos at Sinaloa Mexican & Seafood. Discover this hidden gem in a shopping center east of I-5 off Oceanside Boulevard. Don’t expect any frills at this small and unassuming family-run spot. Do count on friendly service, ample portions and tasty fresh Mexican food to eat in or takeout.

You’ll find the fish tacos simple yet satisfying. Delight in the combination of crisp fried white fish, pico and cabbage in a corn tortilla. A drizzle of velvety fish taco sauce completes this dish. Sinaloa serves lime and zesty, house-made salsas on the side.

Fish & Chips

Experience Oceanside Harbor and mouthwatering food at Harbor Fish & Chips. This friendly, family-owned spot opened over 40 years ago in Harbor Side Village. Order at the counter then sit in the nautical-themed dining room or at an outside picnic table. Enjoy picturesque boats bobbing in the water.

Choose your basket size of one, two or three pieces of flaky white fish. Cooks batter, deep fry and serve these thick cut filets piping hot. Select your choice of a side green salad, made-from-scratch coleslaw, beans or fries. Dress your fish with a squeeze of lemon then dip in yummy homemade tartar and or cocktail sauce. Other menu items include seafood, soups, salads and sandwiches.

Poke

Are you interested in a healthy, satisfying seafood dish? Then head back to the harbor to savor Hawaiian style poke at Lighthouse Fish & Seafood Market. The Lighthouse owner brought the recipe for the poke back from the islands. The market prepares the made-to-order raw fish salad from sashimi-grade ahi delivered daily.

The delectable ahi poke is a mix of cubed ahi, soy, sesame oil, Sirarcha, green onion, white onion and sesame seeds. The dish comes with seaweed salad and an option for rice and/or avocado ($1 more). You can also specify spicy or for the daring, “fire caliente.”
